General Overview Attorneys from the Office of the General Counsel support the work of the Division of Student Life in helping students experience a rich variety of extra-curricular activities and opportunities while at Vanderbilt. Attorneys work with Student Life administrators to put together agreements for speakers and performers to come to campus, and to consider the application of laws and university policies that may apply to student organizations in the conduct of their activities. We also, together with the Office of Risk and Insurance Management, advise Student Life about the coordination of insurance and liability coverage for student activities, including travel for university-sponsored trips.
