Title: Associate Counsel
Mr. Davis joined the Office of General Counsel
immediately upon graduation from Vanderbilt Law School in May, 1993.
Mr. Davis advises the University on copyright, computer law, and
other intellectual property matters, including Internet publishing
and software licensing. He works with the Office of Technology Transfer
on the commercialization of Vanderbilt software and multimedia materials,
and with departments throughout the University on software and system
acquisitions. Mr. Davis also answers questions concerning regulatory
and university policy matters applicable to faculty, staff, and
student activities.
Before attending law school Mr. Davis completed a Ph.D. in Philosophy
at Vanderbilt and did his undergraduate work at the University of
Tennessee, Knoxville, where he graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Davis
spent a year at the University of Münster on a Fulbright Fellowship.
