General Overview The Office of General Counsel advises the University concerning the legal implications of major business transactions. Attorneys review and create contracts to reflect the business terms of deals authorized by University officers. Contract matters from the Medical Center usually come to attorneys through the VUMC Office of Contracts Administration. Non-medical center contracts arrive in a variety ways, including through the Office of Purchasing or through other administrative or academic units.
