Privilege Management Administrator Training

 Course Description: Privilege Management Administrator Training
This hands-on, instructor-led class covers the Privilege Management application, which Vanderbilt University and Medical Center use to administer access to many of the applications used throughout the Financial, Procurement, and Human Resources areas. The training will instruct you on how to set up users with access to applications like eDog, Waldo, eProcurement, DMS and/or with financial authority to sign forms ("SigAuth") for procurement, personnel actions, etc.

Objectives
After training, students will be able to:
  • Explain the process for requesting roles in your area of the University or Medical Center.
  • Explain the purpose of the Privilege Management application and your role in accomplishing this end.
  • Navigate in Privilege Management.
  • Add, edit, delete, copy, or move privileges.
  • Suspend and reinstate privileges.
  • Submit privileges for workflow, if and when applicable.
  • Generate relevant reports regarding security in your area.
Audience
University and VUMC employees who administer privileges for the applications controlled by Privilege Management.
  • Target- This training is intended for the following roles in Privilege Management: Privilege Management Application Administrators, Decentralized Managing Administrators, and Decentralized Administrators.
Prerequisites
Required:
  • You must be set up with one of the following roles for any application in Privilege Management: Application Administrator, Application Managing Administrator, Decentralized Administrator or Decentralized Managing Administrator.
Recommended:
  • Familiarity with the various ways cost centers and home departments are grouped (i.e., "rolled up") for giving access to various applications like eDog, Waldo, DMS, etc.
  • Familiarity with the cost centers, home departments and sumtos for your department or area.
Duration
Approximately 2.5 hours for hands-on training;
