This online course is designed for both university central and VUMC employees who use eDog to generate and view General Ledger reports for their departments. This series of computer-based lessons covers the basics of accounting at Vanderbilt (center numbers and account numbers); generating pre-created reports in eDog (with particular attention to the MD091 report); and generating summary and detailed budget reports for your centers.

Objectives
After training, students will be able to:
Log into and navigate in eDog.
Generate reports in eDog.
Interpret report data as it applies to their center(s).
Complete the Electronic Signoff for monthly ledger review (this step applies to trainees who possess the eDog Transaction Approver privilege in addition to the eDog Viewer Privilege).
Audience
University and VUMC employees who are responsible for budget review and analysis and monthly ledger review and reconciliation.
Prerequisites
Required:
You must possess the eDog Viewer privilege before viewing this training. Otherwise, you will not be able to complete the steps described after viewing the training. Consult with your departmental privilege administrator or business officer for more information on obtaining this privilege.
Recommended:
Some experience with basic accounting principles like credits and debits.
Duration
Approximately 2 hours to complete all lessons.
