Business Objects is a query and reporting tool that allows access to Vanderbilt data. This information is grouped into "universes," which are owned/sponsored by various business areas. To determine which universe you need to access, please see the list at the bottom of this page.

- Admissions

- APPO
- Allows you to request information related to Purchase Orders, Accounts Payable Invoices, and Demand Checks. For example, which purchase orders were issued for my centers this month? Or, which invoices were entered against my centers this month? Access request and additional information can be found under Web Reports Reference Materials at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/procurement/eprocurement/resources.shtml.
- Budrpt

- DAR
- Allows you to request information related to alumni, donors and prospective donors of the institution via pre-established reports. Ad hoc requests can be made through DAR Information Management. For additional information, contact DAR.Advance.Help@vanderbilt.edu.
- Epic

- General Ledger (formerly Financial Reporting)
- Contains data from Vanderbilt´s general ledger system and provides additional reporting functionality outside of the eDog financial reporting application. Users are generally central accounting office staff and some decentralized administrative office accounting staff. - Human Resources
- Human Resources Business Objects universe allows users to run reports that have been most requested by our customers. The intent of the reports is to assist staff in performing HR duties. For help with accessing and running the HR reports available, please visit the HR Reports webpage at http://hr.vanderbilt.edu/apps/busobj.
- Medipac

- Privilege Management (formerly STAR)
- Allows users to look up Signature Authorization (SigAuth) signers in addition to reviewing STAR audit trail information (e.g.: Who can sign a small PO on center #1551100000, or what are all the role changes in STAR for a particular person). To obtain access to the Privilege Management (aka STAR) universe, follow the steps outlined at: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/fis/Apps/bo.htm
- Research

- Student Records
- Allows users access to reports related to students, courses, and enrollments. This information is distributed on a need-to-know basis for performing your job at Vanderbilt. To request a report, complete the form "Request For Student Records Data" located at http://www.registrar.vanderbilt.edu/user_resources.htm under the heading InfoView. The form should be returned to the Office of the University Registrar.
