FILM 288: Production Management (MWF 1:10-2:00)
Jeff Stein
Delving in detail into the infinite complexities of bringing professional feature films to the screen, Production Management I will focus on line producing the development through production phases of making motion pictures, utilizing scheduling and budgeting software interactively with outside research to comprehensively learn about the facets and costs involved. The skills learned here will serve to greatly facilitate the efficiency of student productions, while also preparing students with an expanded consciousness of how things work in the professional world.
Note: Because of the limited timeframe, this stand-alone course can also be dovetailed with an envisioned Production Management II (also stand-alone) that will focus on post-production, delivery, distribution, exhibition, accounting and limited aspects of the business of making motion pictures.
