Images:
Some images made with the new tunable, monochromatic X-ray device are shown here:
Hand phantom:
images of finger at 19 keV (left) and at 29 keV (right). In the left image
the bone is essentially opaque. At 29 keV, however, one can clearly
differentiate the differences between cortical and medullary portions of the
bones.

Breast phantom with inclusions of breast equivalent materials:
Breast phantom comprised of parafin matrix cone containing breast equivalent materials of varying glandular percentage, and some small and large calcifications.

Monochromatic image of phantom (left). Polychromatic image on the right.
Arrows point to numerous "lesions" in the phantom easily vizualized in the monochromatic image but not in the polychromatic exposure.
Small animal imaging:

Image at the left is of a mouse at 24 keV. The image and beam encompass the entire animal in each shot, due to the conebeam geometry of the new tunable, monochromatic device.

The collage of images above represent the animal's pelvis shot at 10 different energies ranging from 16 to 29 keV.
