Celebrating Special Occasions for Students

Remembering your student on special occasions is something parents do with some frequency (e.g., birthdays, accomplishments, morale boosters). When planning a visit to Nashville, familiarize yourself with the University area for a variety of specialty shops that offer treats for your student. The Vanderbilt Bookstore offers more than just textbooks and study supplies. They have a great program called Hugs From Home that provides a variety of packages throughout the year to show affection and loving thoughts to your student. Five packages are available: Birthday Hug (or special occasion), Halloween Hug, Spring Finals Hug, Valentine’s Day Hug, and Fall Finals Hug. Order separately or save by ordering all five. Parents will receive an order form during the summer and can visit Hugs From Home for order forms and descriptions of each Hug. To place your order call the Vanderbilt Bookstore at (800) 288-2665 or (615) 322-2994, fax the order form to (615) 343-6071, or e-mail bookstore@vanderbilt.edu to create your custom gift package for birthdays, midterms, finals, or anytime.
