2) To complete a comprehensive program of survey end excavation aided by remote-sensing, GIS analysis as well as iconographic and epigraphic analyses for the entire Holmul region, which will result in a thorough understanding of Maya cities and their hinterlands as manifestations of state-level systems.
3) To publish the results of the research in a timely fashion in scholarly publications and other media for a general audience.
4) To contribute project resources to tourism development plans at Holmul sites to benefit nearby communities by collaborating with NGO and local government officials towards the creation of tourism infrastructure at the sites under study.
