European Student Association

Greeting:  Hi everyone! We are a group of European Vanderbilt Students who want to meet others of the same origin and have fun!

Goals:  i) To get as many European students together as possible, so that they can learn about other European countries and socialize among themselves.
ii) To promote the European way and culture to the Vanderbilt community.
iii) To help prospective and new students from Europe in their academic and everyday lives.
             iv) To have fun!!

Activities: We don't have a fixed agenta of things we want to do. So, we are open to suggestions.

 I) In view of the European Day on March during the International Awareness Week we plan the following:

i) Any one who is interested can make a small poster with pictures (possibly downloaded from the web) of his/her country, some brief information about it and anything else related.

ii) As two years ago, we can print a map of Europe and all European flags on T-shirts for only $5-10 a piece for us or for anyone who wants to buy one.

iii) We can stand outside the bookstore on European Day, hang those posters, play some music from our county (if you have tapes or CDs please let us know) answer questions about Europe and may be have a quiz with answers on the posters for the students, who will pass by, with prize, say, a T-shirt.

iv) We want to put together a Soccer Team for the Vanderbilt tournament on  March.

--  If you are interested in participating send us an e-mail at vrayevsk@helios.vanderbilt.edu --

II) We plan on organizing a party every month, where we can meet each other and have a good time. We will post the day when its fixed.

III) Some groups of people hang out on certain places relatively often. For instance European math students play pool at H-cues (over Pizza Perfect close to the intersection of 21st and Blakemore) and would be glad to have others join them. If you want to publicize times and dates of similar meetings we can put them on this page for everybody to know.

IV) We think about organizing trips and excursions in the future if we get enough participants. Tell us about the place you would be interested in, the type of the trip (sightseeing, camping, touring) and a convenient period.

E-mail list: If you want to receive updated information on what's going on and show us that you are interested in our effort please e-mail us and we will put you on our e-mail list. Please, let us know if you need help or want to get involved in our organization. We will not spam your account with a pile of e-mails.

We have created two e-mail lists to facilitate our communication.
