Bon Iver is the indie-folk heart-child of Justin Vernon. In the vein of Emily Dickinson, Vernon’s songs are stripped down haunted hymns. “Come on skinny love just last the year / Pour a little salt we were never here.” Featured here is “Skinny Love,” released in 2007 on Bon Iver’s debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago, famously recorded by Vernon while spending three solitary winter months in a remote cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin. www.boniver.org – Zachary Greenberg
