Professor Michael Goldfarb, alumnus Ryan Farris named to Popular Mechanics' top 10 innovators list

Popular Mechanics has named Michael Goldfarb, the H. Fort Flowers Professor of Mechanical Engineering, and alumnus Ryan Farris, MS’09, PhD’12, of Parker Hannifin Corp. to its 10 Innovators Who Changed the World in 2013 list. Goldfarb and Farris were recognized for the Indego, an exoskeleton they developed at Vanderbilt to help paraplegics stand and walk.

Chancellor's Cup presented to Professor Joe Wehby

Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos and Mary Nell Bryan, BA’89, president of the Vanderbilt Nashville Chapter, interrupted a Faculty Senate meeting Oct. 3 to present the 2013 Chancellor’s Cup to Joe Wehby, associate professor of special education. The cup recognizes “the greatest contribution outside the classroom to undergraduate student-faculty relationships in the recent past.”
