Reunion Volunteer Spotlight

A successful Reunion is the result of hard work by hundreds of volunteers. They write letters, make phone calls, plan parties and raise money. Conrad Lucas, BS'03, EdD'10, is the fundraising chair for the Class of 2003.

"I was on the fundraising committee for my fifth Reunion, and I'll probably be on the committee for my 15th. The majority of my career has been spent in politics, and I ask people for money every day. It's something most people don't like to do, but I don't mind at all when it's for a good cause like Vanderbilt. We all benefitted from our time on campus and it's our responsibility to make sure that others have the same experience going forward."

Vanderbilt alumni like Conrad volunteer for so many reasons.
Learn why they help and take a minute to share your story, too.

Thanks for a record-setting year!

The end of the fiscal year on June 30 brought with it a great accomplishment for Vanderbilt alumni. This past year, a record 17,423 alumni made gifts to areas across Vanderbilt, bringing the total alumni giving participation rate to 26 percent. Young alumni giving participation hit an all-time high as well, thanks in large part to contributions through the successful GOLD Challenge. 3,330 graduates of the last decade gave back. Thank you to everyone who made this such a successful year for philanthropy at Vanderbilt. Your gifts are helping to further Vanderbilt's missions of education, discovery and patient care.

Applicants are not required to interview, but those who do are more likely to attend when accepted. Vanderbilt welcomes alumni CoRPs volunteers from everywhere, but particularly needs alumni from the New York City area, Atlanta, Chicago and the West Coast.
