English Language Center Interns

Vanderbilt University English Language Center (ELC) offers internship opportunities for Vanderbilt graduate, professional, and undergraduate students.

General Interns are integral to the ELC’s daily operations. They welcome visitors to our building, help us stay organized, and facilitate our communicate throughout campus. 

2023-2024 General Interns

A woman in a snow bankXinyue (Shannon) Huang  is a master's student in the Multilingual Learner Education Program. She loves to learn different languages and cultures. She can speak Chinese, English, and a little bit of Spanish. Shannon enjoys cooking and board games in her free time.

Due to Manar's Moroccan background, she grew up with multiple languages in her household, speaking Arabic, French, and English as first langauges. In her free time, Manar enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, running, or golfing. 

 

 

Vanderbilt University has awarded the English Language Center a Sesquicentennial Grant to pilot a resource that will use virtual reality to support development of small talk skills in professional settings. The grant supports the work of our Sesquicentennial Grant Intern and continues through the 2024-2025 academic year.

Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, she grew up speaking English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Jessie loves going to the beach, concerts, and exploring Nashville's restaurants. Her dream is to travel the world and make friends in every continent and from every culture.
