Patout Burns has taught in the Divinity School and Theology Department of Loyola University of Chicago, at the University of Florida, and Washington University in St. Louis before coming to Vanderbilt. He is co-editor of the Journal of Early Christian Studies. His research has focused on Christianity in Roman Africa; current work may be reviewed at http://people.vanderbilt.edu/~james.p.burns/.
