VU Meal Plans for Spring 2013

Vanderbilt Campus Dining is a non-profit university-managed auxiliary service. We take pride in our commitment to providing value through the highest quality, best-tasting, most nutritious and diverse menus possible. We embrace our role as builders of community. Food brings people together, creates a sense of place and a feeling of kinship. Food sustains not only our bodies, but also our communities and environment. Vanderbilt Campus Dining is highly decorated, winner of many prestigious awards in the food service industry, including Best On-Site Food Service Operation in the Nation, Best Food Service Operator, the prestigous Ivy Award, and many more. Our team also consists of several award-winning, certified chefs.

Our Meal Plans are designed specifically for the Vanderbilt student. We offer a comprehensive plan in 20 locations that include meals in a retail environment, to-go meals in our convenience stores, and offering flexibility through the use of Meal Money, Flex Meals and our unique local restaurant partners in Taste of Nashville. Meal Plan participation is required for all students residing on-campus. See requirements below.

MEAL PLANS are comprised of MEALS, MEAL MONEY and FLEX MEALS.

MEAL PLANS - Meal Plans are accepted at all of our 20 locations on campus. A Meal is a combination of food at all campus locations (exact combinations vary by location).

FLEX MEALS - can be used ANYTIME to customize the plan and offer optimal flexibility. Flex Meals can be added to the plan at any time online. Treat a guest to a meal or use one to get another meal during a meal period.

MEAL MONEY - to be used to tailor the plan to specific needs. Get an extra entree, side or a dessert using Meal Money. Meal Money can be used at all ON campus locations, vending and Varsity Markets (snacks, to-go meals) and OFF campus at 27 local partner restaurants in the Taste of Nashville Program. Meal Money can be added at anytime online.

FIRST-YEAR Meal Plan (students are automatically signed up for this plan)

Designed to support and facilitate the activity of The Commons Center.

      • 3 Meals daily - you choose 3 out of the 4 meals per day
      • 1 meal per meal period
      • $175 Meal Money per semester
      • 5 Flex Meals per semester

     (First-year students are automatically enrolled in the First-Year Meal Plan. This plan is required for first-year students residing on-campus.)

            (Meals are provided during CommonVu Orientation)

Price: $2,395/semester

 

UPPERCLASS / OFF-CAMPUS STUDENT MEAL PLANS

The Optional 19

  • 19 Meals Per Week
  • $200 Meal Money/semester
  • $3.15 Rollover for missed meals
  • 5 Flex Meals/semester

Price: $2,375/semester ($2,425 after Nov. 15, 2012). Off-campus price $2,576.19/semester

Second-year, Third-year, and Transfer students may upgrade to this plan.
Fourth-year and Off-campus students may elect to participate in this plan.
                                                                        

The 14 Basic

  • 14 Meals Per Week
  • $200 Meal Money/semester
  • $3.15 Rollover for missed meals
  • 5 Flex Meals/semester

Price: $2,115/semester ($2,165 after Nov. 15, 2012). Off-campus price $2,292.14

Second-year students are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
Transfer students are automatically enrolled in this plan.                                                                 
Third-year students may upgrade to this plan.
Fourth-year and Off-Campus students may elect to participate in this plan.

The 8 Basic

  • 8 Meals Per Week
  • $250 Meal Money/semester
  • $3.15 Rollover for missed meals
  • 5 Flex Meals/semester

Price: $1,425/semester ($1,475 after Nov. 15, 2012). Off-campus price $1,533.69

Third-year students are required to participate in this plan and areautomatically enrolled in this plan.
Fourth-year and Off-campus students may elect to participate in this plan.

NOTE:  Meals for the week BEGIN on Monday at 12:01am. Rollover is posted on Sunday night (when meals end for the week).

Off-campus plans are subject to TN state sales tax.

FLEX MEALS - Customize Your Plan!
Flex Meals allow you to customize your plan and offer optimal flexibility. Use Flex Meals at any time regardless of meal periods. Flex Meals for on campus Meal Plan holders are:

10 Flex Meals — $82
15 Flex Meals — $121.50
20 Flex Meals — $160
25 Flex Meals — $197.50
30 Flex Meals — $234

Off-Campus Flex Meals will include tax.

Flex Meals may be added to your plan at any time and do not expire.

NOTE: Graduate and Professional Students may also add Flex Meals. Your student account will be charged. To add a Flex Meals click here.

Flex Meals add flexibility to your plan. Treat a guest, friend, or family member to a Meal at any VUMP location or use one to get another meal during a meal period. Flex Meals (that come with the Meal Plans) expire at the end each semester. Flex Meals that are associated with the Meal Plans are depleted before additionally purchased Flex Meal bundles. MEAL PLAN PERIODS
Period 1, 12am-7am
Period 2, 7am-11am
Period 3, 11am-4:30pm
Period 4, 4:30pm-12am.
Meals for the week begin MONDAY at 12:01am.
Rollover is posted SUNDAY night and the rollover cap is $50.

MEAL MONEY
Use your Meal Money to tailor your plan to your specific needs. Get an extra entree or dessert using Meal Money. Add it as often as you wish at www.vanderbilt.edu/commodorecard/

Note: If you have a Meal Plan, your Meal Money will carry over to the spring semester; if you do not select a plan for the spring, Meal Money expires.

TASTE OF NASHVILLE (ToN)
ToN allows you to use your Meal Money at participating partner restaurants or for delivery. Your entire Meal Money, including rollover, is available for use in the ToN program. Visit our Taste of Nashville page for a list of our partner restaurants and for online ordering.

ADJUSTMENT SCHEDULE
Before Nov. 15, 2012 — TBA Prices listed apply
After Nov. 15, 2012 — Prices increase by $50
Spring 2013 adjustments deadline: January 16, 2013
After January 16, 2013 — No cancellation

NOTE: By making your Commodore Card selections online, your Meal Plan is automatically renewed for the Spring semester.

Important Info: Meal Plans begin the night before classes start and end after exams in December and April. Watch here for specific dates. Rollover is not active during exams and winter/spring breaks. 

In the event of withdraw from the university refunds are prorated according to university guidelines and adjusted based on remaining Meal Money balance.
