This Friday @digitalVU:
Engaging Students with New Technologies in the Classroom
Join us in the Kennedy Center on Friday for our monthly digitalVU meeting. Derek Bruff, senior lecturer and assistant director of the Center for Teaching, will be giving a presentation on technology in the classroom—useful not only for those who interact with students, but also for anyone wanting to learn more about interactive and digital friendly presentations.
Presenting ideas and responding to student questions are two fundamental classroom activities. Teachers at Vanderbilt and elsewhere are experimenting with a variety of technologies to enhance these two activities. Derek will introduce you to a few of these tools. Web services Flickr and Prezi can be used to improve the visual components of presentations, and classroom response systems—using clickers, smart phones, and Twitter—can create more interactive and responsive classroom dynamics.
See you Friday @ 10 a.m. in
Kennedy Center MRL 241.
