Project Dialogue will host Eboo Patel, PhD. at Vanderbilt’s Langford Auditorium on Tuesday, February 21st at 7 pm. Founder and President of Interfaith Youth Core, Eboo’s core belief is that religion is a bridge of cooperation rather than a barrier of division. He’s inspired to build this bridge by his faith as a Muslim, his Indian heritage, and his American citizenship. He has spoken about this vision at places like the TED conference, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, as well as college and university campuses across the country. He writes about it regularly in The Washington Post, USA Today, and The Huffington Post.

Please join the Vanderbilt community in recognizing the 10th Anniversary of September 11th with two compelling events.

Please join the Vanderbilt community in recognizing the 10th Anniversary of September 11th with two compelling events.

On Sunday evening, we will welcome Lawrence Wright; author, screenwriter, playwright, and staff writer for The New Yorker magazine, to give a keynote address on his Pulitzer-prize winning novel “The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11″. A book signing will take place in the lobby after the address. “The Looming Tower” will be available for purchase here.

Monday evening, the commemoration continues with a screening of Wright’s documentary “My Trip to Al-Qaeda”. Bound to catalyze a thought-provoking discussion, Wright provides society with a perspective on 9/11 previously unexplored.

Both events will begin at 7:00pm in Vanderbilt University’s Langford Auditorium (http://www.vanderbilt.edu/map/ ) and are free and open to the public. We will hope you will join us as we remember one of the most significant tragedies in our history.

Presented by Project Dialogue (http://www.vanderbilt.edu/dialogue/)
and the Office of Active Citizenship & Service (http://www.vanderbilt.edu/oacs/).
