Will the GPA at my former college or university transfer to Vanderbilt?
The GPA from your former school will not transfer to Vanderbilt. However, you can never lose your former GPA. That will always remain in your transcripts from the former school and can be used when applying for graduate schools or other programs.
Will the credits from my former college or university transfer to Vanderbilt?
You MUST contact the registrar for your major school at Vanderbilt. Send the school's registrar a copy of your transcript and a syllabus for each course taken. Each individual school determines credits which can be transferred. If the school has any questions, they will contact you directly via your Vanderbilt email address. Be sure to register for your VUnetID as soon as possible so you can set up your email address.

When can I move onto campus?
Transfer student move-in will begin at noon and end at 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2009. Details will be sent to you over the summer including where to check-in upon arrival and your orientation schedule. ConnectDores (student transfer orientation leaders) and staff will be available to assist you on the day you arrive.
What banking institutions are available around campus?
It is not necessary to have a bank account in Nashville.You may want to seek assistance from your home bank representative about what services they may provide, while considering an account at home or in Nashville (bank card fees, transferring funds to a student's account, etc). Two Nashville banks, Sun Trust (888-390-BANK) and AmSouth (800-AmSouth), have offered toll free numbers available 24 hours a day for inquiries about their services. You may also visit their websites at Sun Trust and at AmSouth for more information.Students may cash checks of up to $100 at the University Bookstore. The Medical Center cashier's office and local groceries will cash checks with the student's driver license and Commodore Card. Several SunTrust ATMs are located on campus. An ATM at the Sarratt Student Center is centrally located. Sun Trust and AmSouth have full-service branches within walking distance of campus.Other banks near campus include: Regions, Bank of America, and Wachovia.
How can I find a campus job?
The Office of Student Employment coordinates all on-campus student employment processes at Vanderbilt University.
