::: VANDERBILT DANCE CONCERT :::

Thank you to all who participated in the concert, and to our invaluable audience members.

Save the date for next year's concert on April 1, 2010

THURSDAY and FRIDAY, MARCH 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Ingram Center for Performing Arts at the Blair School of Music

$5.00 for students; $10.00 for general public

Tickets will be available soon at the Sarratt Box Office or at the door on the night of the performances

This spring's concert features works rooted in history as well as movement that charges into unknown territory.  Tom Shoemaker will present his restaging of excerpts from Les Sylphides, the epitome of a romantic ballet; Matthew Christensen (formerly of Nashville Ballet) will present a contemporary ballet piece "Grafting," and Marsha Barsky's Compagnie Rose will share it's debut performance.  Vanderbilt Dance Theater will present it's sophomore season:  the deep simplicity of Sharon Perry's vision of tsunami survivors; Keith Fitzpatrick's damaged, yet jarringly precise "Post War," Kelvin Amburgey's soulful exploration of falling; and the delicate nuanced agony of Stacie Flood-Popp's "9 Crimes."  Other highlights will include original work from Vanderbilt's Momentum Dance Group as well as from the Nashville Community; Nomi Eniafe's enlivening West African dance; as well as works by Tap expert Stephanie Hamilton, Belly Dance artist, Reischa Feuerbacher, and Bharatanatyam guru, Monica Cooley.
