Technique Classes - 10 hours per week for semester total of 120 hours

  • 2 Advanced level classes (Ballet or Modern) - each class meets 1.5 hours 2x per week. 6 hours
  • 1 Intermediate level class (Ballet, Modern or Jazz) - class meets 1.5 hours 2x per week. 3 hours
  • 1 Elective class - class meets 1 hour 1x per week. 1 hour

Culminating Project: 40 hours total

The culminating project consists of a self-directed assignment based on the student's desired topic, developed in collaboration with a member of the dance faculty. Students must submit a proposal to the Dance Certificate Program Director for approval by the end of the first year. Projects may include:

  • Teaching Practicum
  • Internship Program
  • Summer Dance Workshops
  • Guest Artist Residencies
  • Choreographic project
  • Theatrical Design (lighting design, sound design, costume, stage management)

Total Hours for Culminating Project: 40
