::: FALL SEMESTER DANCE CLASSES :::
REGISTRATION: September 1-6, 2008.
CLASSES BEGIN : September 8.
Look for the fall schedule online
in mid to late July.
::: AUDITIONS for VANDERBILT DANCE THEATRE :::
When: Sunday, September 14, 10 a.m.
Where: Memorial Gym, Studio C
Save the date if you want to audition to be part of the annual Vanderbilt Dance Concert! You must be enrolled in an Intermediate/Advanced technique class with the Vanderbilt Dance Program in order to be part of the company. VDT is open to Vanderbilt Students, Undergraduate, and Professional, Vanderbilt Staff /Faculty, and to the Nashville Community. Performance opportunities are available in Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern/Contemporary, or Jazz.
Vanderbilt Dance Concert will be Thursday and Friday, March 12 and 13, 2009, so you must be available to rehearse until then.
::: CERTIFICATE in DANCE STUDIES :::
Applications for the Fall 2008-Spring 2009 Certificate Program
ARE NOW AVAILABLE online! They are due by 5 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Sarratt 310 or 315 B.
The Vanderbilt Dance Program Certificate in Dance Studies is a 400-hour program for intermediate / advanced level students, 17 years or older. Combining the study of dance technique with dance academics, creative studies, choreography and pedagogy, the program is designed to complement a student's chosen degree at Vanderbilt University, or as an independent certificate program.
Summer/Fall 2008 Academic Dance Courses:
- DANC 111 History of Ballet and Modern Dance offered through the Blair School of Music with Professor Marsha Tardy
- AMER100W: American Social History Through Dance: First Half Summer Session (July 08) 1 PM-3 PM M-F AMER100W-01 Professor Kevra
- Fall Semester 2008: AMER100W-01 1:10-2:00 PM MWF or AMER100W-02 12:10-1:00 PM MWF Professor Kevra
