Barbara Sidwell

Prior to joining the staff at Vanderbilt University, Barbara Sidwell served for five years as executive aide to the departments of Speech & Theatre and Computer Information Systems at Middle Tennessee State University. She also has experience in the fields of paralegal studies and legislative research.

Volunteer work has included mentorship to undergraduate students, membership to the Association of Secretarial & Clerical Employees; scholarship committee, International Association of Administrative Professionals, American Democracy Project, and the Rutherford County Election Commission.

Barbara holds a B.S. in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University. She plans to begin her M.A. course work in International Affairs with a concentration in International Development and Globalization in Fall of 2013. Research interests include political behavior, public policy, international relations, globalization, and cultural anthropology.
