Tepper Argues the Value of the Artistic Lens in GIA Reader

Steven Tepper’s “Art as Research: The Unique Value of the Artistic Lens” appears in this month’s GIA Reader, a publication of Grantmakers in the Arts. Tepper argues that arts-based inquiry draws on “diverse modes of discovery” to incite passion and curiosity through active participation and experience. He explains, “If the arts are to make lasting inroads into the curriculum, they need to draw upon the growing body of research in the learning sciences suggesting that arts integration [...] can catalyze learning and accelerate higher-order thinking.”
