Protecting Intellectual Property

Vanderbilt intellectual property is as an extremely valuable asset. Some of the more important things to consider with regard to protecting intellectual property are:

  • Record Keeping can be an extremely important step in ensuring that intellectual property is protected, especially if the intellectual property can be patented.
  • Public Disclosures in the form of a publication, speech or other medium may pose problems to patentability if not handled appropriately.
