New Venture News: InvisionHeart named a finalist in Global Food and Health Innovation Challenge
Nov 6 2013
Less than a year into its existence, InvisionHeart, LLC is making a name for itself in the entrepreneurial and health care community. The Vanderbilt startup, cofounded by Vanderbilt Engineering Professor Franz Baudenbacher, Ph.D., Vanderbilt University Medical Center Cardiac Anesthesiologist Susan Eagle, M.D., and Entrepreneur/CEO Josh Nickols, Ph.D., was just named one of six finalists, from a pool of more than 200 applicants worldwide, in the Global South Summit Global Food and Health Innovation Challenge. If named a winner, the company could be awarded up to $1 million that will be invested to drive the technology into the marketplace.
InvisionHeart officially launched in early 2013 following development of the technology at Vanderbilt. Upon formation, the company was selected to participate in JumpStart Foundry’s startup accelerator program. It completed the program in August with a strong pitch at JumpStart’s DEMO Day.
