CTTC team tours High Throughput Screening Facility

A team from CTTC recently had the opportunity to tour the High Throughput Screening Facility at Vanderbilt. To say we were impressed is an understatement. The HTS team routinely screens 6,400+ small molecules per day at a single target, and serves as a guide to investigators throughout the drug discovery process.

Director Paige Vinson guided us through the facility, pointing out relevant equipment and explaining what each station does. Of particular interest was a robotic arm that now assists with the movement of plates throughout the various screening phases. This automated system has increased reproducibility and freed the researchers to perform other experiments. Check it out in the video below.
