To achieve its mission,
the CSMA invites the participation of members of the astronomical community,
members of other professional societies and organizations, and any other
citizens interested in issues of equity and diversity in the sciences.
Participation at all levels of commitment are welcome.
Join the CSMA mailing
list and contribute to SPECTRUM
We encourage AAS members to join the CSMA mailing
list. This is a good (and easy) way to stay abreast of CSMA activities
and initiatives in which to become involved. By signing up, you will automatically
receive the CSMA's semi-annual newsletter,
SPECTRUM. If
you are interested in contributing to SPECTRUM (whether an AAS member
or not), please contact the editor.
Learn about minority
resources and minority issues
Recognizing that scientists interested in questions of diversity may not
always know about relevant resources, or about relevant issues, the CSMA
website includes a list of minority resources
and a discussion page on various minority issues.
Do you know of a particularly
useful resource that others should know about? Is there an issue on which
you have some knowledge/expertise to share? Please, let
us know!
Other ideas?
Do you have ideas for partnerships that the CSMA should pursue? Do you
know of individuals active in diversity issues who might be interested
in participating in the CSMA and/or giving an invited talk? Have you heard
of funding opportunities that might be appropriate for the AAS/CSMA to
consider? Do you simply want to express a general sentiment of support
and goodwill? We want to hear
from you!
