Professional biography
Todd Hughes joined the Vanderbilt University in 1996. He is currently serving as Director of Instructional Technology at the Center for Second Language Studies. Since coming to Vanderbilt he has served as the Director of the Language Center, where he worked with faculty and students in the integration of technology into their teaching and learning. He is an Associate Editor for HISPANIA, the journal for the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, where he has published numerous articles. He has also served as a consultant on various initiatives to create high-quality online learning materials.
His major interests lie in the development of models for the use of cinema in teaching languages, course material development, curricular innovation through technology and Less Commonly Taught Languages. A Spanish-speaker, he is also an ardent student of Turkish and Hindi.
