Vietnamese of the native tongue of approximately 70 million people. Estimates indicate that approximately 90 million people speak Vietnamese worldwide. It is a language that has saw much change during the 20th Century. In 1910, French Officials enacted a law changing its script from Chinese characters to a script that more resembles Latin letters. It is because of this French influence, that there are a lot of borrow words from that language in Vietnamese.
