CRIME PREVENTION
The Vanderbilt University-North Nashville COPC has identified drug trafficking,
domestic violence, assault, and property crimes and vandalism as concerns
for our North Nashville community. Strategies to address these issues include:
- Developing a cooperative relationship and presence with the Metropolitan
Nashville Police Department
- Educating North Nashville residents on available resources to combat crime
- Providing North Nashville youth with after-school, weekend, and summer
activities within walking distance
- Neighborhood clean-up and beautification initiatives in conjunction with
the Community Organizing Committee.
- Implementation of a NOTICE (Neighborhoods Organized to Initiate Code Enforcement)
program
- Neighborhood Watch
- Neighbors Night Out
The crime prevention committee is co-chaired by Percy Davis (e3911@bellsouth.net)
and Andrew Atwood (andrew.t.atwood@vanderbilt.edu).
