Riske and Tsoubanos Cruise Into NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals

Vanderbilt Duo Set for Rematch With Florida Tandem
GAINESVILLE,
Fla. - The third-seeded team of senior Sarah Riske (McMurray,
Pa.) and junior Aleke Tsoubanos (Chesterfield, Mo.)
have moved one step closer to winning a NCAA Doubles
Championship. They defeated Southern Californias
top team of Jewel Peterson and Tiffany Brymer in straight
sets on Wednesday, 6-4, 6-2, in the Round of 16 at the
Ring Tennis Complex.
Riske and Tsoubanos, who have been Intercollegiate Tennis
Association All-Americans the last two years, will have
a rematch with Floridas Jennifer Magley and Zerene
Reyes at 12 p.m. (EST) Thursday in the quarterfinals.
Magley and Reyes had little problems in disposing of
Missouris Urksa Juric and Katka Sevcikova, 6-3,
6-1. Magley and Reyes upset Riske and Tsoubanos back
on May 16 in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals, 8-4.
Both doubles teams have had outstanding seasons for
their respecitve squads. Riske and Tsoubanos currently
hold a 33-7 record, while Magley and Reyes are 26-5.
