Womens Soccer to Hit Road for 2003
Spring Season 1/29/03
Nashville,
Tenn. After a four-plus month break from action, the
Vanderbilt womens soccer team will get back in swing
of things this spring in preparation for next season. The
Commodores will hit the road to compete in four games through
the later part of March and early April.
While no times have been available for these four games,
dates and opponents have been made announced. The Commodores
will hit the road four-consecutive Saturdays to take
on Alabama-Birmingham (March 15 Birmingham, Ala.),
Middle Tennessee State (March 22 Murfreesboro, Tenn.),
College of Charleston (March 29 Charleston, S.C.) and
Tennessee (April 5 Knoxville, Tenn.).
Vanderbilt took on Alabama-Birmingham and Tennessee during
the 2002 season, and were able to score victories against
both teams. Vanderbilt defeated Alabama-Birmingham, 4-2, back
on September 5 in Birmingham. The Commodores picked up their
first SEC win of the season against then No. 21-ranked Tennessee,
1-0, back on October 11 in Knoxville.
As times are made available for these four games, they will
be posted on Vanderbilts athletic website, www.vucommodores.com.
