Arauz Selected For Umbro Select All-Star Game 1/4/02

Commodore women's soccer player Lindaliz Arauz (Temple Trace, Fla.) was selected to participate in next month's prestigious Umbro Select All-Star game. In its seventh year, the event features two all-star games that showcase the top 36 seniors in both men's and women's collegiate soccer from around the country as a showcase prior to the MLS and WUSA draft later in the week. This year's Select All-Star Classic will take place February 6-11 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The women's All-Star Classic will be on February 10 at 2:00 p.m. ET at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

"We are extremely proud of Lindaliz for making the Umbro Select game," said Vanderbilt head coach Ronnie Hill. "It is always wonderful to see that players who put in four years of hard, dedicated work to their soccer program are being rewarded with such a great event. Lindaliz is truly a special player and we are certainly hoping for her to have a chance at a professional career in the WUSA."

Arauz was a first team All-SEC selection in 2001 after being a second team honoree the previous two seasons. She made 74 consecutive starts as a defender for the Commodores from 1998-2001 and was named to the third team All-Central Region team in 2001.
