Places 10 on SEC Academic Honor Roll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Vanderbilt women's soccer team placed 10
student-athletes on the 2000 SEC Women's Soccer Academic Honor Roll,
it was announced Tuesday by SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer.
Vanderbilt's honorees included
Laurie Black (Human and Organizational Development), Kat Carroll (Undecided),
Kate Elia (Sociology), Lizzy Johnson (Mechanical Engineering), Kelly
Kulsrud (Elementary Education), Katie Stegall (Child Development),
Kim Szurovy (Economics/Political Science), Natalie Taylor (Civil Engineering),
Lauren Whitt (Human and Organizational Development) and Jessie Wolfe
(Interdisciplinary Communications/Political Science).
To be eligible for the
award, a student-athlete must 1) have a 3.0 grade point average for
either the past year or for their career; 2) be a sophomore or higher
in academic classification; and 3) have 24 semester hours countable
toward a degree. The 2000 SEC Women's Academic Honor Roll is based
on grades from the 1999-2000 academic calender.
The 2000 SEC Women's Soccer
Tournament is Thursday-Sunday in Athens. Ga., with Vanderbilt facing
Tennessee in Thursday's first round. The championship match will be
televised on SEC-TV Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m. CT.
