DARTMOUTH SHUTS OUT VANDERBILT, 4-0


The Vanderbilt women's soccer team fell to Dartmouth College, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon in Hanover, N.H.

In the shutout, Dartmouth outshot the Commodores 17-8.

The Commodores dropped to 4-7 overall, while Dartmouth improved to 2-4.

The Big Green tallied two goals in both the first and second halves. Dartmouth's first goal was off a rebound on a corner kick 39 minutes into the game. The second goal came four minutes later on a rebound off of VU goalie Jessie Wolfe. In the second half, Dartmouth took a 3-0 lead at the 69:15 mark. Mary McVeigh scored her second goal on the day on a header off of a free kick. The Big Green added on to their lead and secured the win with 1:01 left in the game with a shot that found the upper left corner of VU's net.

Wolfe had a career-high 13 saves in the match even though she took the loss.

Vanderbilt travels to Connecticut next to meet the 19th-ranked Huskies on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. ET.
