Ashley McElhiney to Compete in ESPN's 3-Point Championship 4/2/03

Senior point guard Ashley McElhiney will compete in ESPN's 15th Annual College 3-Point Basketball Championship tomorrow (Thursday) in New Orleans, La. The event is being held at the Men's Final Four in New Orleans, La.

The Championships will be televised Thursday (April 3) around 9:30 pm CT on ESPN2 and then again Saturday (April 5) on ESPN from 2-4 pm CT.

McElhiney ranks second on the Vanderbilt Career List for 3-point percentage hitting 165-404 for a 40.8 mark. Her 165 career 3-pointers ranks fourth on the VU All-Time List.

McElhiney is the second Commodore to compete in the 3-point contest - Michelle Palmisano competed in the 1997 3-Point Championship.
