Klimesova Named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week

Vanderbilt
senior forward Zuzi Klimesova was named SEC Player of the
Week today. Klimesova helped lead the #3 Commodores to a 3-1
record and Preseason WNIT runner-up title. She also earned
WNIT All-Tournament honors.
Klimesova
averaged 15.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in four games while
shooting 52.0 percent from the field (26-50). She also hit
87.5 percent from the line (7-8) and 50 percent from 3-point
range, including a 2-2 performance vs. Colorado - a career
high.
Klimesova
averaged 31.8 minutes a game and recorded two double-doubles
against ranked opponents. She totaled 24 points and 11 rebounds
vs. #12 Colorado and 16 points and 11 rebounds at #1 Connecticut.
She now totals 24 career double-doubles and VU is 21-3 all-time
in those games.
This
season, she became one of seven players in VU history with
at least 1,300 career points and at least 700 career rebounds.
She has led the Commodores in rebounding each of the last
two seasons and is currently ninth on the schoolıs all-time
list with 730.
In
99 career games, she has scored in double-digits 76 times
(76.5 percent) and is seventh on the schoolıs all-time list.
This
is the second time Klimesova has earned SEC Player of the
Week honors. She was the last Commodore to earn the honor
on Jan. 10, 2000. No Commodore was named SEC Player of the
Week last season.
