LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Sara Nord scored 25 points and Lori Nero added 22 as Louisville withstood Ashley McElhiney's school-record 17 assists to defeat No. 12 Vanderbilt 92-82 Thursday night.

The Cardinals (7-4) trailed 21-18 midway through the first half before going on a 14-1 run. Nero, who scored five points during the run, had 17 in the first half on 8-of-8 shooting.

Vanderbilt cut the lead to 38-32 with 2:43 left in the half, but the Cardinals' Sabrina Minter scored the last seven points to give Louisville a 45-32 halftime lead. Vanderbilt didn't get closer than seven in the second half, on a basket by Abi Ramsey with 1:28 left.

Minter added 18 points for the Cardinals.

Chantelle Anderson scored 25 on 11-of-16 shooting to lead the Commodores. Jenni Benningfield, who's from Louisville and was Kentucky's Miss Basketball in 2000, added 18 points.
