Crimson Defeat Chippewas in First Tennessee Tournament 11/30/02

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Behind 29 points from forward Hana Peljto, Harvard (3-0) defeated Central Michigan (2-1) in the second game of the First Tennessee Tournament on Saturday afternoon, 69-58, at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Crimson will now take on host Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. Sunday in the championship game of the First Tennessee Tournament. This will be the fifth meeting between these two teams, with Vanderbilt holding a 4-0 leading over Harvard.

Peljto finished 13-for-24 from the field and also grabbed seven rebounds for the Crimson. The Chippewas leading scorer was Desiree Eidson, who finished with 21 points.

These two teams met during the 1995-96 season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Nashville, with the Commodores winning, 100-83.
