BURLINGTON,
Vt. (AP) _ Chantelle Anderson scored 16 points and fourth-ranked
Vanderbilt connected on 70 percent from the 3-point range
in a 75-54 win over Vermont on Saturday.
Vermont
(5-4) got out to an 8-2 lead and hung with Vanderbilt (11-1)
for much of the first half, with Morgan Hall scoring all of
her team-high 12 points before intermission.
Anderson's
layin with 10:44 to play in the half put Vanderbilt up for
good, 14-13.
Vermont's
Lani Boardman hit a 20-foot jumper to pull the team within
26-25 with 2:50 left, but Vanderbilt responded with an 8-0
run to close with a 34-25 lead.
Jillian Danker hit back-to-back 3-pointers early in the second
half to widen the gap to 42-30. Jen MacAulay hit a layup in
transition to get Vermont within 46-36, but Vanderbilt's Abi
Ramsey went four-of-four from long distance in the next three
minutes to put the game out of reach.
