COMMODORES HOST THE MASON RUDOLPH WOMEN'S
CHAMPIONSHIP 9/23/02
FRANKLIN,
Tenn. The Vanderbilt women's golf team hosts the
Mason Rudolph Women's Golf Championship today and tomorrow
(Sept. 23-24) at the Legends Club in Franklin. Tee time
is a shotgun start beginning at 8 am. The second round starts
immediately at the conclusion of the first round.
The Commodores will be playing with Arizona
and Stanford for the first two rounds. The teams will play
36 holes today and conclude tomorrow with the final round
beginning at 8 am (shotgun start).
Other teams in the field include #9 Ohio State,
#10 Arizona, #15 Stanford, #19 Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss,
Tulane, Missouri, Oregon State, North Carolina State, Furman,
Northwestern, and UNC-Wilmington.
Vanderbilt, ranked No. 6 in Golf Week and
No. 9 in GolfWorld, is coming off a third place finish at
the NCAA Fall Preview. The Commodores shot a three-round
total of 901 (+18). Junior Sarah Jacobs finished in a tie
for second place with a 219 (70-73-76) for a three-over-par
outing.
Ohio State is the defending Mason Rudolph
Champion posting a score of 861 (291-292-278) in last season's
tournament.
