2002: Redshirted during outdoor season following move to pentathlon during indoor season...Running unattached outdoors, accumulated 4,612 points in first heptathlon, matching or breaking season bests in the 100-meter hurdles (15.42), spot put (42'2.75"), javelin (72'7"), 200 meters (25.79) and 800 meters (2:35.04)...Had outstanding indoor season in the throwing events, improving own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 54'3.75" at Indiana Invitational and setting an indoor personal best in the shot put (42'0.25") at the SEC Championships...In first pentathlon competition at SEC Championships,
broke former school record with 3,279-point effort at SEC Indoor Championships despite finishing behind teammate Josie Hahn.

2001: Had eighth best SEC mark in high jump with 5-6 effort that won Vanderbilt Invitational...Also won hammer throw at same invitational with 143'4" effort...Broke own school record and PR with 159'1" hammer throw at SEC Championships...Set school record indoors with 53'0" effort in weight throw.

2000: Set school record in hammer with 143-6 while winning Vanderbilt Y2K Invitational...Won weight throw at MTSU Invitational with 48'4.75" effort...

1999: Won hammer throw event at Commdore Classic with a mark of 139'2"...Placed second at Emory Invitational in same event with toss of 135'0"...At SEC Outdoor Championships, threw discus 113'1"...Also threw shot put 37'0.25" at MTSU Invitational.

In High School:
Participated in throwing events (shot and discus) and long jump throughout prep career...Captain and All-County as senior as basketball player...Named team MVP in basketball as junior...Named DeKalb County A/AA Basketball Player of the Year.

Personal: Kyshia Danielle Ewing...Daughter of Philip and Juanita Ewing...President of National Honor Society chapter and valedictorian of high school...One of the few Division I athletes to compete in both the hammer and the heptathlon...Taught STEP dance routine to Vanderbilt Arts & Science faculty and administrators...Has distinguished herself as one of most talented walk-on athletes ever in Commodore track & field...Earned undergraduate degree in Engineering Science last spring...Currently pursuing graduate degree
