2001-02 (Sophomore): Finished the year ranked No. 32 nationally by the
ITA in doubles with partner Bobby Reynolds … earned second team All-SEC honors
with Reynolds in doubles … finished season with an overall doubles record of
13-9, which included a 9-5 mark with Reynolds … won both doubles matches in
the NCAA team championship … highest national doubles ranking during year was
No. 26 … concluded sophomore season with 12 singles victories … finished fall
season with 8-3 record, which equaled the number of wins he had his freshman
season.
2000-01 (Freshman): Won the No. 2 doubles title at the Nike/Fighting
Illini Invitational in the fall...Advanced to the Round of 16 at the SEC Coaches'
Indoor Championships in January...Saw limited singles action, but played the
majority of the year at No. 2 doubles with Brad Hambrick.
High School/Juniors: Tennessee state doubles champion
with teammate Zach Dailey in 1998, 1999 and 2000...Helped
lead high school to state championships in 1998, 1999 and
2000...Member of Top-10 high school team...Named Memphis Commercial
Appeal's Best of the Preps in 1998, 1999 and 2000...Co-champion
of the boy's tennis Best of Preps in 2000 with teammate Dailey....Also
shared the Harrison-Humpreys Tennis Award with Zach Dailey...Won
third place at the 1999 USTA Boys 18s Internatnional Grass
Court Doubles...Team captain of his senior basketball squad...Named
All-Tournament at the Ross M. Lynn Classic and Carbondale
Invitational in 1998 and 1999...Named MVP at the Carbondale
Invitational in 1999...Earned Regional Player of the Year
and first team, all-state honors in 1999...Named the Dr. L.C.
Ogle Basketball MVP in 2000...Won Commercial Appeal's Best
of the Preps Honors in 1999 and 2000...Won the James R. Haygood
III Award for the Best All-Around Athlete in 2000 from his
high school...Finalist for the Best of the Preps--Division
II Athlete of the Year.
