1999 Season Highlights € VU's final national ranking of No. 28 is the best in school history. € Vanderbilt's 12 wins were the most since winning 12 in 1994 and its four SEC wins were the most since winning six conference matches in 1993. € Vanderbilt defeated three top 20 teams, Alabama (18), Kentucky (13) and LSU which was No. 20 at the time and finished at No. 4. These represent the highest wins the Commodores have posted in the Ken Flach era. € Two singles players (Kyle Porter and Eddie Coates) and one doubles team (Coates/Porter) were ranked by the ITA during the season. € Kyle Porter was the first alternate for the NCAA Singles Championships. € Andrew Nisker led the team in overall wins (24), dual match wins (17), SEC wins (8) and ranked wins (5), all coming against SEC foes. € Danny Tym and Andrew Nisker won both their matches during the NCAA Tournament. € Dan McGugin, Andrew Nisker and Todd Peter were named to the SEC's Academic Honor Roll. € Vanderbilt went 8-4 at home but 4-10 away from Nashville. Of VU's 13 ranked singles wins, 11 came in Nashville and all three of its ranked doubles wins were also at home. € VU won 33 SEC singles matches in 1999 after winning 11 all of 1998.
