NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One goal and one assist by forward Nik DeMello helped lead the Vanderbilt men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over cross-town foe Lipscomb on Friday evening at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. With the win, Vanderbilt (2-6) ended a six-game losing streak, while Lipscomb (1-7) dropped their seventh game in eight tries.

With the scored 2-1 Vanderbilt and 10 minutes remaining in the game, Commodore midfielder Jeff Baker was issued with a red card which left the Black and Gold one man down for the remainder of the contest.
