(TICKER) -- Freshman guard Bracey Wright scored the first eight
points for No. 6 Indiana, then kept going.
Wright scored a season-high 31 points to lead the unbeaten
Hoosiers to an 73-56 victory over Vanderbilt (5-2).
Wright shot 11-of-20 from the field, including 5-of-9 3-pointers.
The Hoosiers (7-0) opened a 43-29 lead at halftime and led
by as many as 20 points in the second half. The Commodores
(5-2) made occasional surges but got no closer than 12 points.
Kyle Hornsby added 12 points - all on 3-pointers - and Jeff
Newton chipped in 10 for Indiana.
The Hoosiers' seven-game winning streak is their best since
an eight-game run during the 1996-97 season. It is their best
start since opening the 1989-90 season with 10 wins.
Matt Freije led Vanderbilt with 18 points. David Przybyszewski
added 14 for the Commodores, whose only two losses this season
have come to ranked opponents. Vanderbilt fell to then-No.
12 Connecticut on December 1.
Indiana has won six of seven all-time meetings with Vanderbilt.
This was the first game between the schools since December
8, 1991.
