Vanderbilt's Snedeker Named First-Team All-America
6/2/03
NASHVILLE,
Tenn. - Vanderbilt senior Brandt Snedeker became the first
Commodore men's golfer in school history to earn First-Team
All-America honors after he was named to the nation's top
squad by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Last season, Snedeker was Vanderbilt's first ever All-American
after earning Second-Team All-America honors by the GCAA.
Snedeker just completed a record-setting senior season
that solidifies his career as the best in Vanderbilt history.
In his final campaign, Snedeker was ranked No. 1 in the
nation, earned SEC Male Golfer of the Year honors, was named
All-SEC honors for the third consecutive season, won three
consecutive tournaments, topped the SEC in stroke average
and led Vanderbilt into the NCAA Regional and NCAA Championship
for the first time ever.
This past fall the Nashville native finished fifth at the
Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic, which
featured 24 of the nation's elite collegiate golfers. Snedeker
also has been invited to participate in this summer's 2003
Palmer Cup, which pits the United States against a European
squad.
In addition to being named First-Team All-America, Snedeker
also was named to the Southeast's All-Region squad.
