Stratton Foster Academic Center
The Stratton Foster Academic Center serves as the headquarters for the Vanderbilt academic support system. The Center is responsible for overseeing the education development and the progress towards graduation for all student-athletes. Vanderbilt consistently has the highest graduation percentage in the SEC.

NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarships
There are several post-graduate scholarships and internships available from the NCAA, which several Vanderbilt student-athletes have received in the past.

Verizon Academic All-America®
Vanderbilt boasts 44 Verizon Academic All-American® selections and two Verizon Academic All-Americans® of the Year. In 2002, women's basketball's Zuzi Klimesova received the honor for the second consecutive year. Commodore alumnus John Hall, pictured with broadcaster Dick Enberg, was inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame in 2001.

Endowed Scholarships
Vanderbilt is fortunate to have a number of loyal and generous supporters who have endowed 29 athletic scholarships, including one funded by employees of the Vanderbilt Athletic Department. They are annually awarded to student-athletes named by the Vanderbilt Director of Athletics and coaches.

Community Involvement
Vanderbilt student-athletes have volunteered countless hours to the Vanderbilt campus and the Nashville community. Some organizations benefiting from Vanderbilt's volunteers are: Adopt-A-School Program, Ronald McDonald House, D.A.R.E., Big Brothers and Big Sisters and Special Olympics. The Student-Athlete Advisory Board
(SAAB) consists of one representative from every varsity team. The board meets monthly to communicate with the administration on issues affecting all student-athletes.

Academic Support Program
The Academic Support Program assists student-athletes in reaching their full potential both in and out of the classroom. Some of the components include the availability of a professional tutoring staff, constant monitoring of the student-athlete's progress, and development of a balanced individual time schedule that incorporates the student-athlete's commitments in the classroom, on the field, and within his or her social realm.

Tolbert Cup
The Tolbert Cup is awarded to the Vanderbilt team that excels in community service, academic excellence, team winning percentage, and individual accolades. It is named in honor of Ryan Tolbert, Vanderbilt's first NCAA National Champion (400m Hurdles).

Career Playbook
The Career Playbook is a compilation of each graduating senior's resume that is mailed to over 100 leading businesses. The resumes are extensive and include a letter of reference from Director of Athletics Todd Turner and local business leaders that have interacted with the student-athletes.

Career Development
The Vanderbilt athletic department works with the campus Career Center in a cooperative effort to prepare students for rewarding careers and productive lifestyles after their time at Vanderbilt. Among the programs offered are: Career Testing, Campus Interviews, Career Exploration & Counseling, Job Search Skills, Internships/Summer Job Programs, and Job Placement.

Student-Athlete Employment Program
Vanderbilt has established a year-round Student-Athlete Employment Program that serves as a means to provide financial resources in the form of employment opportunities for eligible student-athletes. This also gives them some 'real-world' experiences as well as career exploration.

The Vanderbilt student-athletes receive support from more than 40 staff members, tutors and counselors.

Strength and Conditioning
The goal of the Vanderbilt Strength and Conditioning staff is to help individuals improve their athletic performance and minimize the potential for injury. They create workouts not only specific to the sport but to the individual athletes as well. The staff also creates year-long workout programs tailored around a student-athlete's class schedule. This allows for a great deal of one-on-one supervision.

Sports Medicine
Thanks to a joint venture between the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Vanderbilt athletic department, every Commodore athlete receives first-rate treatment in the McGugin Center athletic complex. The newly designed 4,300-square foot facility houses a rehabilitation pool, a staff of 20 trainers & doctors, and separate areas for taping & treatment/rehabilitation.

Hendrix Room
Majid (Magic) Noori might be the most publicized chef in all of athletics, and is definitely tops when the subject is collegiate training tables. He has been recognized nationally by ESPN The Magazine, Sports Illustrated for Women, and CBS This Morning. Sports Illustrated recognized his Hendrix Room athletic dining facility as the nation's best twice in the last 10 years.

CHAMPS/Life Skills
The CHAMPS/Life Skills Program (Challenging Athletes Minds for Personal Success) represents the comprehensive commitment by Vanderbilt's athletic department to foster the total growth and development of the student-athletes. The program includes a number of projects and workshops that aid student-athletes in day-to-day living situations, handling stress, preparing for post-college life, and several community service projects such as the Vanderbilt Kids Zone.

The Southeastern Conference's Showcase City

Frist Center for the Visual Arts
The Frist Center is Nashville's latest addition to the fine arts scene. The 125,000-square foot facility was made possible by a $50 million public-private partnership to enrich Nashville's ever-growing need for the fine arts. The Frist Center serves as a "window to the world" by presenting a wide range of visual arts exhibitions. Previous art exhibits have included the works of Claude Monet, Winslow Homer, Georgia O'Keffe, Pablo Picasso and Vanderbilt Professor Michael Aurbach.

Gaylord Entertainment Center
The NHL's Nashville Predators call the GEC home. The GEC, with a capacity of 20,000, is a former and future site of the NCAA men's and women's basketball tournament, including the first and second rounds of the 2003 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The GEC is only a few blocks away from the bustling 2nd Avenue District and one mile from campus. In addition to sporting events it is also a very popular site for concerts from artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Janet Jackson and Tom Petty.

Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC)
TPAC puts on over 500 concerts including, Broadway musicals, and special events throughout the year that consistently sell out. TPAC is one of Nashville's largest live theater venues. TPAC hosts a wide range of shows every year, including: musicals Phantom of the Opera, RENT, Riverdance, and CATS; performances from the Nashville Ballet, Nashville Symphony, Jerry Seinfeld and Robin Williams; and concerts by world famous performers.

Adelphia Coliseum/Tennessee Titans
Adelphia Coliseum is home to the NFL's Tennessee Titans. The Titans franchise has captured two AFC Central titles since moving to Nashville and played in Super Bowl XXXIV in just their second season in the Music City. Adelphia Coliseum also is home to the Music City Bowl and major concerts. The Vanderbilt football team also has called Adelphia home with the 2000 and 2002 Vanderbilt-Tennessee football games being played there.

AmSouth Amphitheater
AmSouth Amphitheater is a very popular spot especially during summers for its outdoor atmosphere and concert lineups. It can seat about 12,000. Acts such as Britney Spears, Dave Matthews, Kid Rock, Counting Crows, James Taylor and Aerosmith have graced its stage.

Second Avenue
Buffalo Billiards, Havana Lounge, Big River Grill and Brew Works, Mulligan's Irish Pub and Restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe, Hooters, Wildhorse Saloon, Banana Joe's Dance Club, Graham Central Station, and many others.
